Karen and Jordan’s lavish wedding at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa at Ko ‘Olina located on Oahu exuded “fabulous” in so many ways; lounge furniture and canopies to define the outdoor space, elaborate lighting, gorgeous linens, coordinating stationery, and of course, an abundance of flowers made the aesthetic seem extra luxurious. It took a team of extraordinary service providers to put the look together.

The Romantic Elegance look started with a color palette of ivory, champagne, blush pink, and taupe, very subdued colors that lent a quiet elegance. For the guests’ first impression of the fete that was to come, Emi Ink designed invitations with delicate lines and subtle textures that were later incorporated into the entire wedding stationery suite, which include ceremony program fans, a large thank you poster, favor tags, table number cards, and more.

The Hokulani Ballroom took on a polished look with the addition of fine linen and pipe and drape from Les Saisons. Guests’ tables were dressed in taupe-hued satin linen with coordinating chair covers and sashes, and to highlight the head table and cake table, a gorgeous white paillette overlay added just the right amount of sparkle. Attention was even paid to the napkins, which were artfully swirled into a pretty rosebud at each place setting.

To enhance the mood of the venue, the evening started with the Hokulani Ballroom all aglow in a wash of barely-there pink lighting by Eggshell Light Company. Inspired by their wedding stationery monogram, Emi Ink created a custom made light stencil that glowed behind the head table.

As the night progressed and the mood transformed from formal to festive, the lighting, too, evolved to colorful shades illuminating not just the inside of the ballroom, but the outdoor lounge and exterior landscaping features around the entire ballroom.

We hope these photos and ideas help inspire couples to consider the many ways to craft their own wedding style.

Happy Planning!
